Also, although there is Efes available there are not pubs on every corner. Fortunately, through diligent research, B&NT know exactly where the Efes can be found. However be ready to drink a lot of çay.
Numbers will be limited. The location is remote and planning and logistics are going to be complicated so those interested are requested to confirm attendance as soon as possible. There will also be a non-refundable deposit required as we cannot be messed about on this one.
There is also travel information to Tokat and from Corum. The sooner we know who is coming, and from where, we can assist in giving advice regarding travel arrangements. Also, if anyone wants to come early or leave later, the sooner B&NT know the better we can help. |

The itinerary
The detailed itinerary for each day, which in true hash fashion, is unlikely to be anything like what will really happen, (don’t believe everything you hear from B&NT)
Forget about number of stars, hotels in this area are either good or bad. Against our better judgement, maybe, we have gone for good as we know many of you hashers are getting on a bit now and need your comfort!

Some information on places to be visited – check out more on the internet – questions will be asked in the circles!!
Sivas
One of the principal cities of the Seljuk sultanate and worth a short visit to see the Çifte Minare (Twin minaret) Madrasa built in 1271 and the adjacent Şifaiye Madrasa which was the largest and most elaborate medical institution ever built by the Selcuks.
Tokat
Not much to see but it has still got some traditional hamams in impressive buildings. Many of the personnel in hamams around Turkey come from the province of Tokat, in particular from Reşadiye.
Almus
Small town but gives its name to a lake on the Yeşilirmak River in the mountains above Tokat. Scenic views and plenty of fresh water fish.
Ballica Caves
Impressive cave system still being extended.
Zile
A place to see traditional houses and the fort/castle where Caeser said ‘veni, vidi, vici’ after he defeated two opposing armies in the same day.
Amasya
The town is set under a dramatic rock outcrop on the banks of the Yeşilirmak River. Amasya was the capital of the Pontic kingdom and was founded in the 3rd century BC. The tombs of the Pontic kings are cut into the rock above the town.
Sapinuva
Situated at a strategic point this was an important administrative centre of the Hittites. Nearly 4000 tablets with cuneiform writing found at the excavations here.
Incesu Canyon
The canyon is 12.5km long, steep sided and between 40 & 60m wide. Caves and rock carvings as well as scenic views.
Alacahoyuk
This is the oldest settlement of the Chalcolithic age (start of the bronze age) and was established about 4000BC. A very important centre of cult and art in the Bronze and Hittite periods. |

|
Yazilikaya
The most impressive sacred place of Hattusa is the Yazilikaya open air temple. There are special arrangements of relief figures inscribed in rock.
Hattusa
The Hittite civilization was one of the most important civilizations of the world. King Hattusili I formed a central kingdom by combining wide geographic regions under political and cultural influence in Anatolia for the first time and the capital was Hattusa. In 1986 UNESCO named the site a World Culture Heritage Site. |
